Grading in Krav Maga
Induction course
To start Krav Maga training there is a three hour induction class, which covers the essential core basics of Krav Maga. This class in itself is a very useful grounding in self defence and counter-attacking, but it also enables a person to join an existing training group without feeling like a fish out of water, or to attend any first level seminars. The cost of the Induction Course is just £30. To secure your place you will be asked to fill out a short form and pay a non-refundable £10 deposit via PayPal. Our next induction is on Sunday 26th February 1-4pm - click here to book your place now. If this date does not suit you, check again early next month as the classes generally run once on the last Sunday of each month.
Weekly classes
Krav Maga classes are held at Fitness First, Tottenham Court Road every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evening from 19.30-21.30. We also have a class at Twyford Sports Centre in Acton on a Monday night. Instructor is Marcos Lall, class runs 19.00-21.00 and is held at Twyford Sports Centre, Twyford Crescent, Acton, London W3 9PP. Click here for more information
You do NOT need to be a member of Fitness First to train in Krav Maga with us! Krav Maga classes are structured to give students a blend of reality, technique and power as well as stamina. Incorporating advanced teaching methods, students progress at a rate far in advance of 'mainstream martial arts'.
Although self defence is a serious topic, and we take it very seriously, students find the lessons enjoyable, training together with people from a variety of backgrounds.
You don't need to be an Olympic standard athlete to perform Krav Maga effectively, no matter what your age, weight, body type or gender, Krav Maga will work effectively for you.
As you progress with your Krav Maga training you will notice the effects on your body. You will become fitter and if you are carrying extra weight, you will begin to shed unwanted pounds! Your reactions and reflexes will become quicker, co-ordination and flexibility will also improve dramatically. All this whilst learning to protect yourself with what is widely believed to be the world's best system of self defence.
The cost: £10 per two-hour class. No joining fees. No membership fees. Simply pay as you go.
We carefully plan each lesson so every evening is different, not only in content but the 'type' of lesson, i.e. one lesson may be dynamic another more technical, and so on.
Special courses and private tuition
We also run special courses for executives, team building, women only and specialist courses on topics including groundwork, knife defences and other subjects. If you are interested, please contact us for more information.
Private tuition
We can also offer one to one tuition – in a variety of London locations and in office (call Mike on 07956 282 402).
Minimum Requirements
Before you can participate in the regular classes you must first go through the induction course (unless you have prior Krav Maga experience).
What should you wear for Krav Maga?
Clothing, quite simply, should be loose fitting and comfortable. In the studio we wear trainers. The objective of Krav Maga is to teach people to defend themselves and fight back if need be, irrespective of what they are wearing.
Protective wear is optional, but advised if you want to train confidently and seriously.
We can supply Krav Maga clothing and protective wear on request.
Grading in Krav Maga
If you are interested in grading, there is a grading system for Krav Maga. Grading is divided into 3 main categories; Practitioner, Graduate and Expert Levels. Most Krav Maga members are ready for their first grading after 3-6 months of regular training. Grading thereafter is taken every 6 months or so depending on progression and requires regular attendance at training classes. Grading are conducted by club instructors and by visiting Israeli Global Team instructors.
